Day 21. Hanoi. 19.11.24
Final Day (17) of the cycling tour, no cycling.
'Breakfast at the hotel. Free until transfer to the airport for departure flight. TOUR ENDS.'
We have a few extra days in Hanoi to explore at will before we depart on Friday for home (Saturday) via Singapore.
This morning we took a walk around lake Hoan Kiem, had coffee at McCafe and did a bit of souvenir shopping. Our cases were full when we left home as we brought our own helmet, water bottle etc for the bike ride. So minimal shopping allowed 😥
Mark, Wendy and I walked across the red bridge, known as the Cà u Thê Húc/Welcoming the morning sunlight bridge, to a temple on an islet. The bridge is 45m long and opened in 1865.Some of the art works on display at the entrance.
50,000 VND/$3 Aussie entrance fee each.
This was made from roses.
Wishing tree.
Heading back the gang.
King Lý Thái Tõ, born in 974, died 1028. He was an Emperor in the Lý dynasty.
The vertical rods on this fish structure move presumably with the breeze. This gives the appearance of a swimming fish.
Thanks Wendy for trying to make us look beautiful.
Walked back past a whole street full of haberdashery and a few art gallery stores.
Stores full of buttons.
Thanks to Greg for these 2 beauties. We are now staying at the Anatole Hotel in Hanoi for 3 nights. It's very luxurious and fancy.
A huge bed. You could comfortably sleep 3 in it.
Disappearing bathroom. You flick a switch and it's hidden from view.
Headed back out for a bit of lunch and to visit a Gaol museum.
Happy teachers day.
Entrance to our hotel.
Infinity pool on the 10th floor.
Had drinks at the Tipsy bar on the roof top.
St Joseph's Cathedral.
Another busy and full day. We have walked ~12 kms today.
