Day 8. Nha Trang. 6.11.24

Day 4 of the cycling tour, 50+ kms

'Cycle downhill to Cham temples called Poklong Giarai in Phan Rang. This can be called the highlight of this trip, in which you will get an epic road biking experience: long hill climbs and descents/ winding forest roads/ wild scenery/ coastal plains/ pine forest vegetation/ rugged countryside. Transfer the rest way to Nhatrang. Ovenight in Nhatrang.'

Dalat is known as the city of love 💕

Last nights hotel.

The hotels street.

Wowsers, we have had a very interesting day. Started out with breakfast at 6.30 and everyone checked out and on the bikes at 7.40 ish. Wendy's not feeling 100% so she elected to stay on the bus.

The traffic riding through Dalat was scary and chaotic. Cars and motor bike going every which way and they drive on the otherside to Australia so that's even more confusing, especially when roundabouts are involved. I sat on Tom our guides rear wheel all the way through the crazy traffic. We all survived without any injuries.

In Dalat city.

Dalat is an organic food growing area.
Coffee stop in the LÄ…c Du'o'ng district after riding 25 kms.  It had just started raining.
We jumped into the bus to be transferred closer to the hill. We were climbing 500m over 10kms. It was drizzling when we left so we all put coats on thankfully as the rain got very heavy and visibility was poor. When we got to the top we called it quits for the day as it was too dangerous.
Some photos taken on the bus.

Back on the bus to head to the restaurant at the bottom of the mountain, in Khánh Hòa.

We arrived in Nha Trang safely. Our bus driver was very careful in the rain.
We have a balcony room with fabulous view on the 11 th floor of a tall, skinny building.

It's still raining into the evening and supposedly until lunchtime tomorrow, with a chance of a typhoon heading our way.
Looking across to Vinpearl on Hòn Tre Island.
The triangular shaped lights om the right are a cable car to get across the island.

We had dinner at a local restaurant about 200m from the hotel.
Glen was the only one game enough to try the chicken foot.

We have ridden ~92kms and walked ~45 kms since leaving home. Tomorrow is a tour day. Weather permitting we will be going on a boat instead of a bike.

  1. It’s so green! Really hot here in Goombungee. 37 degrees today with possible storms later.
It looks like you’re all having a great time. Wish I liked cycling, but it’s really not my thing 🤣🤣. I’m impressed by others doing it though. Enjoy! Carol
