Day 10. Tuy Hoa-Phu Yen. 8.11.24.

Day 6 of the cycling tour, 50+  Nhatrang - Tuy Hoa – Phu Yen

'Breakfast at the hotel. We cycle 20 km along beautiful coast line road. We do not cycle on Highway No. 1. After coffee break, we cycle from the top of the hill to go through the villages, passing schools. The children like to come out and say hello. We stop for packed lunch to enjoy Vietnamese sandwich. After lunch, we cycle on another back road through villages, passing the reunification express railroad. Then visit a brick factory in a small village before we reach Tuy Hao town, Phu Yen province. Dinner and overnight in Tuy Hoa.'

Breakfast at 6.30 for a 7.30am cycle.

I had an omelette again for breakfast.

We had a quick look at the pool on the 21st floor.

The view was beautiful.

We are riding from our hotel this morning. Mr Tom says about 60km with a little extra at the end if we are not tired.
Sun was very bright and it was a little windy.

The first leg of our cycle journey ended at a fish market.

We jumped on the bus for half an hour to transfer to a safer spot than the highway no. 1. A few rural pics from the bus.

Oyster farms.

Pit stop for a tea or coffee. Then it was back on the bikes again.
Rice planted about a week ago.
It takes about 3 months to harvest.

Our 2nd leg of the journey was 21kms=41.15 so far.
Off to the lunch spot.  We thought we were having a sandwich but instead we had a few different dishes plus rice and noodles 🍜

The boys checking out all the rubbish washed up.

Back on the bus to transfer to the start of our final leg of the journey.

The road we travelled down.
On the bikes again for the final stage.

9 cyclists, Wendy is still unwell but getting better.
8 cyclists and Mr Tom.
Beautiful spot to stop for a picture.
We stopped here, around 20kms, for a water break and to decide who wanted to ride another 20 kms. Carmel is now unwell and didn't continue. 8 of us and 2 crew rode on to the hotel Sala. I rode all but 10 kms with the lowest pedal assist on, when I finally flicked it up to 2 it only lasted about 3 or 4 kms before the battery started dying.  I flicked it back to 1 but after a few more kms it was flashing flat battery. Thankfully Mr Visa our sweep swapped bikes with me. I went to the hotel very fast and poor Mr Visa ended up walking.
After showers, resting and photo editing we jumped on to the bus and went to dinner for yet more food. Some of us chose to walk part way home.
Pics of the night life.

Today has been another beautiful day full of lovely scenery,  undulations, horrendous winds, too much food and good company.
We rode 80.5 kms and I definitely found it challenging to keep the bike upright in the wind in a few places.
